Health Heroes is partnering with OCPS to administer on site flu vaccinations to students this fall. This opportunity will take place at Blankner K8 on Tuesday, November 16th.  Health Heroes Florida flu vaccination clinics are voluntary and are available to all consented students regardless of insurance coverage. The consent forms are located here on our website and they are also being sent home with students on Tuesday, November 2nd. All consent forms will need to be completely filled in and returned your student's homeroom teacher or first period teacher by Wednesday, November 10th to be eligible to participate in the flu vaccination clinic on Tuesday, November 16th.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Will you force a child to get the vaccine? Absolutely not! A student must have a signed parent/guardian consent form. If a student is adamant that they do not want to receive the vaccine (asking for their parent/guardian, wanting to leave the room, etc.), the parent/guardian will be notified by the school that the student did not receive the vaccine.

Can parents be present? No. We find having parents present significantly slows down the efficiency of the clinics.

When should I return the consent form?  Please send the consent forms to your child's homeroom or 1st period teacher by Wednesday, November 10th. Passes to flu shots will be handed out in advance.

What if a child doesn’t have insurance? That is okay! Our goal is to vaccinate any child regardless of insurance coverage. Please have the parent check the appropriate box underneath the insurance section of the form.

What if a parent thinks their insurance will not cover the cost? No child pays any form of a copay to receive the vaccine with our program. Please have the parent fill out the form to the best of their ability but know, it is free to the family.

Do the parents have to fill the form out in its entirety? Yes
